UALAR is an Allumni community of University of the Arts London (UAL) graduates in Russia that organises and runs multiple cultural events, exhibitions, workshops and markets. The events featured a vast spectrum of creative disciplines, including fine artists, photographers, sculptors, and fashion designers. The design required a cohesive visual identity system capable of uniting diverse artistic media while preserving the recognizable authority of the university's heritage.
The fluid logotype was engineered to reflect the versatility of cross-disciplinary media. The visual solution anchors itself in the structural, recognizable lettering of the university. The rhythmic nature of graphic elements symbolizes the shifting borders between sculpture, fashion, art. The logo functions in several versions as UALAR, UALARM and ALARM for different types of events.
UALAR FOLDER publication: To match the multidisciplinary content, the exhibition catalog departs entirely from standard formats and utilizes a tactile, fluid architecture designed as a collection of loose components: A minimalist external housing Folder serves as the master anchor for the identity. Inside, a fluid pack of Postcards Matrix functions as an independent gallery space showcasing the work of a single participant. The postcards feature diverse physical dimensions and paper stocks. This structural variation creates an active tactile experience, mirroring the multidisciplinary nature of the physical exhibition floor.
